In addressing the public perception of Anthropogenic Global Warming, this nine-part article considers evidence from the Bible and from simple scientific principles to prove that catastrophic man-made global warming is neither catastrophic, man-made or even global and that the God of creation is in full control of the climate today, just as He was at the beginning of time.

In June 2006, top film critic Roger Ebert commented on Al Gore’s movie documentary, ‘An Inconvenient Truth’:
“In 39 years, I have never written these words in a movie review, but here they are: You owe it to yourself to see this film. If you do not, and you have grandchildren, you should explain to them why you decided not to.”
I have seen this movie several times, not because I felt I owed it to myself but because I wanted to be fully aware of the ungodly attitude generated by this rolling environmentalist bandwagon, and former Vice President Al Gore did not disappoint. Here are a number of quotes from the movie:
1. “Doing the right thing will propel us forward”
2. “We now know everything we need to know to stop this”
3. “The solutions are in our hands”
4. “We formed a nation, we brought something new to the earth, we abolished slavery, we won simultaneous wars, we cured diseases, we landed on the Moon, we brought down communism, we can do this!”
5. “We can make choices to bring our carbon emissions down to zero”
(Despite the common use of this term, it is both biologically and
scientifically impossible to exist without emitting carbon.)
6. “Our home is at stake. This is a moral issue. It is our turn to rise again to secure our future”
Following moves by the British government to place thousands of copies of this movie into schools, Stewart Dimmock, a school governor, decided to take the matter to the British High Court accusing the government of indoctrinating young people on matters of climate change. The High Court ruled in favour of Dimmock, describing ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ as irredeemable, containing serious scientific inaccuracies and sentimental mush. The court ruled on eleven scientific inaccuracies in the course of the movie. According to that ruling, the following statements are all lies which feature in ‘An Inconvenient Truth’:
1. Melting glaciers on Mount Kilimanjaro prove Global Warming.
RULING: “Nothing to do with Global Warming. Many glaciers actually growing.”
2. Ice cores show that CO2 causes temperature increases over 650,000 years.
RULING: “ CO2 rises actually occur 800-2000 years later than temperature rises.”
(The Bibles teaches that the earth is 6000 years old, so we already reject this.)
3. Hurricane Katrina was caused by Global Warming.
RULING: “It is not possible to attribute abnormal storm events to Global Warming.”
4. Lake Chad in Africa has completely dried up because of Global Warming.
RULING: “Nothing to do with Global Warming.”
5. Polar bears have drowned due to disappearing Arctic ice.
Gore shows a cartoon of a polar bear swimming desperately to find a piece of ice.
When the bear finds some, it breaks under his weight, leaving him looking very upset.
RULING: “Al Gore misread the study. Four polar bears died during a violent storm.”
6. Global Warming could stop the Gulf Stream, causing another ice age.
RULING: “This is a scientific impossibility. It can’t happen.”
7. Global Warming causes extinction of species and coral reef bleaching.
RULING: “No evidence has been uncovered to back this claim up.”
8. Greenland’s ice will melt causing sea levels to rise dangerously.
RULING: “The current trend would need to continue for at least 1000 years.”
9. Melting in the Antarctic will cause islands to disappear under water.
RULING: “Antarctic ice-caps are growing. South Pole temperatures are falling.”
10. Sea levels may rise by 7 metres causing millions to flee major coastal cities.
We read of the control God has over His oceans in Psalm 104:9 “Thou hast set a
bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.”
RULING: “Largest predictions suggest sea levels will not rise more than 40cm.”
11. Rising seas have already caused the evacuation of Pacific islands.
RULING: “No such evacuation has been recorded anywhere.”
‘An Inconvenient Truth’ runs for 96 minutes. Together, the opening and closing credits contribute 12 minutes. The ‘sentimental mush’, featuring short clips on Al Gore’s life and childhood, lasts for 23 minutes. The eleven scientific inaccuracies rattle up a further 29 minutes. That leaves just over 30 minutes, which includes the science of ice core extractions, suggestions of population control, a verbal attack on Global Warming skeptics, a motivational message that it’s not too late to save the planet and the declaration that the 10 hottest years on record have all occurred in the last 15 years. Incidentally, that’s another scientific inaccuracy, since the figures were later revealed to have contained significant errors. In August 2007, NASA very quietly released corrected figures, showing 1934 as the new warmest year on record, with 5 of the top 10 occurring before World War II. Therefore, in 96 minutes of Global Warming propaganda, Al Gore says absolutely nothing of any truth, substance or benefit. If you have never seen it, then by all means watch it, but don’t let it fool you like it has fooled so many.
